On April 5, 2022 the Boulder County Commissioners and Boulder City Council will hold a joint public hearing on the formation of a Boulder Public Library District. Subsequent to the hearing, on April 7, 2022 they will announce their decision on the proposal.
The NCA feels that most people in Niwot are unaware of this proposal and the implications for them. Once the details of a public library district are set, it will go to a vote of all people within the district boundaries. Since Boulder City will assuredly be in the district and the number of voters in Boulder City vastly outnumbers all voters in unincorporated Boulder County, any ballot measure will be decided by the city residents.
