Railroad crossing quiet zones public meeting

Niwot High School – Cafeteria, 8989 Niwot Rd, Niwot, CO

Boulder County Transportation will host a public meeting to present updated information, answer questions, and gather community input regarding efforts to convert railroad crossings along the SH 119/Diagonal Highway corridor into Quiet Zones, which are safety improvements to roads that cross railroad tracks that can eliminate the requirement for train horn use at crossings.   Project webpage

 


Morton Heights Concrete Improvements and Safe Routes Program

Left Hand Grange – 195 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO

Boulder County Transportation will present updated plans for installing new and replacement sidewalks, curbs, and ramps in Morton Heights to improve pedestrian and bicycle access through the area and to the elementary school.  most of the planned improvements will take place on Walker Road and Morton Road.  County staff will provide a presentation at 5:30pm, then answer questions and gather feedback.  Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2019.  Project webpage
