The attorney representing the new owners of the property at 6924 N. 79th Street (formerly the Elysian Fields’ auction house) has indicated that the new landlord will be seeking approval from Boulder County Land Use for a facility to cultivate, grow and sell marijuana. He wants to meet with community members and organizations prior to their application to explain their plans and answer questions.
Back in June 2014 when news of the pending sale of this property and the intentions of the prospective owners came to light, the NCA conducted a quick survey and determined that 72% of Niwotians oppose this plan.
It is expected that the new owners will reach out to the NCA and NBA and both organizations will reiterate the local sentiment to the proposed operation.
