A group of Niwot citizens has successfully submitted a petition for a proposed ballot measure to create a Public Improvement District (PID) in Niwot for the purpose of collecting property taxes through a mill levy increase to be used to rehabilitate and maintain roads within Niwot and spend up to 5% of revenues for Niwot Master Plan projects.

The organizing committee is hosting a public meeting this Tuesday to present details of the proposed PID, share a prepared FAQ document from Boulder County Staff, and answer questions from the community.

• Public Survey:

• Boulder County County Commissioners Public Hearing
On Tuesday Aug-19 at 1:00pm a public hearing will be held at the County Courthouse (1325 Pearl St. 3rd floor) where the commissioners will receive a staff report and recommendation, listen to public comment, and the decide if the PID will be placed on the November ballot.
• Second Public Meeting
The organizing committee will host a second public meeting Monday Aug-25 at 7:00pm at the Niwot Hall regardless of the outcome of the public hearing.
• Second NCA survey
The NCA will conduct another public survey based on new/final details of the proposed PID, Aug-26 through Sep-09.
Setting The Record Straight
To address some confusion, the NCA is not part of the organizing committee for the petition to create a public improvement district in Niwot.
All questions and comments on the proposed PID ballot measure should be directed to the organizing committee and the Boulder County Commissioners as outlined in the main article.
The NCA will conduct a survey on this topic and share the results at the Boulder County Commissioners public hearing.
