(Posted at the request of Boulder Country Transportation)
In order to safely and efficiently mill the remaining asphalt on Niwot Road between CO 119/Diagonal Highway and 79th Street, travel on Niwot Road will be restricted to eastbound only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Monday, Sept. 16. The westbound restriction on Niwot Road will only be in effect between CO 119 and 79th Street.
This restriction is being put in place to alleviate safety problems that may ensue if traffic is backed up onto CO 119/Diagonal Highway.
Westbound traffic will be detoured at 79th Street. Westbound travelers seeking to access the downtown Niwot area from the east should use N. 83rd Street or Meadowdale Drive to get to Neva Road and Franklin Street. Eastbound traffic will be allowed to access Franklin Street and 2nd Avenue to access downtown Niwot, except for when the milling machine is directly in front of these intersections.
The same restriction will be utilized when paving operations occur in this stretch of Niwot, which are tentatively set for the week of Sept. 23. Another message will be sent as soon as paving dates are set.
