NCA Niwot Clean Up / Recycling Day

Tips for Clean-Up Day:

  • Please do not line up before 8am
  • Enter at the stop light only
  • Paint collection will stop at 11am
  • Best time with the least traffic is 9:30am

Know the flow:

  1. Arrival: A greeter will give you a waiver to review
  2. Inspections: As you sign the waiver, your load will be reviewed
  3. Checkin: Your NCA membership will be verified
  4. Payment / enter: See below for items requiring fees
  5. Unload: Drive to the appropriate drop off and volunteers will help you unload
  6. Exit: See the map for exit route that will keep things flowing smoothly

 

New for 2024

Tire recycling:

  • Any tire: car, bike, wheelbarrow, …
  • Removed from the rim!
  • Boulder County Resource Conservation Division, your taxes pay for this!

Bicycle recycling:

  • Through communitycycles.org
  • Bike in any condition, working or not, along with any bike parts

We Accept:

  • Yard Waste (we’ll be chipping tree limbs off-site this year for distribution to area farmers)
  • Scrap Metal
  • Water-based Latex and Oil-based Paint
  • Styrofoam and Plastic Film
  • Electronics **
  • Mattresses & Box Springs **
  • Tires (New for ’24)
  • Bicycles and bike parts (New for ’24)
  • Trash

We DO NOT accept:

  • Household Garbage
  • Cardboard, Glass, Aluminum Recycling, please deposit in recycling bins on 79th St.
  • Refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers
  • Motorized Equipment with Gas or Oil
  • Construction Debris (e.g. dry wall, any lumber with Nails, Mirrors)
  • Please protect our volunteers from injury.
  • Solvents
  • Hazardous and/or Hard to Recycle Items
  • Animal Waste
  • Batteries
  • CFL/Fluorescent Tubes
  • Waste from businesses – e.g. contractor trash

 

 

Limits and additional fees

NCA Members:

  • Two Free Loads
    1 Load = Standard sized pickup at bed level
  • Additional Runs at $25 per load
    Compare this to $48 to $85 what Western Disposal would charge.

Non-Members:

  • $40 per Load

** Additional Fees:

  • LCD / LED TV’s: $20 each
  • Tube TVs: $20 each
  • Small electronics and computer monitors: FREE
  • Box Spring or mattress; $10 each
