Clean-up Day
May-20
Niwot High School parking lot

Turned out to be a perfect day for the annual Niwot Community Association Clean-up Day.  A thin layer of clouds kept the temperatures down, and the excessive amount of volunteers kept spirits up.  Participants honored our request to not line up before the event opened, and a steady manageable stream of traffic came through for the entire day.

Special thanks to all the volunteers that make this event possible, and a special call out to organizer John Barto for his excellent planning that made the event so successful.

Summary:

  • 170 drop offs
  • 4 rollaway dumpsters of trash
  • 2 rollaway dumpsters of yard waste
  • 1 rollaway dumpster of metal recycling
  • 11 mattresses / box springs for recycling
  • large amount of styrofoam for recycling
  • large amount of electronics for recycling
  • 100+ cans of paint for recycling

Slepicka home on North 79th

Fourth of July Celebration
Downtown Niwot

A perfect day to eat some pancakes, listen to the band, watch a parade, and celebrate our country.  In addition to honoring our country, Eve Lempriere, Pat Murphy, and Dawn Server were chosen by the NCA as the parade grand marshals for their positive impact on Niwot through their extensive volunteer work in the community.  Preceded in the parade by the color-guard and band, our grand marshals were then follow by 33 other parade participants of local organizations, tractors, decorated bicyclists, cars, and first responders.

National Night Out
Aug-1 6pm
Downtown Niwot

It was determined by the NCA and the Boulder County Sheriff’s office that severe weather made things unsafe for the National Night in Niwot and therefore canceled the event.

Across the county most NNO events were also canceled except where there was a hard shelter to provide wind breaks and protection for participants.

Since NNO is a nationwide event that occurs on the first Tuesday of August, the Niwot event will not be rescheduled.

Mark your calendars for August 6, 2024 for next year!
