Niwot Clean Up Day Summary

Niwot Clean Up Day

Sponsored by the NCA

Saturday May 20
Niwot High School

The snow storm that preceded this year’s Niwot Clean Up Day not only made organizers a little nervous, but also downed many tree limbs that ended up in our roll away dumpsters.  At Niwot High School the sun was shining and the temperatures remained cool which made for perfect conditions for our community to come out and get rid of debris and yard waste.

In total 14 roll away dumpsters were filled, evenly split between trash and yard waste.  With help from the NHS boys baseball team and Boy Scouts from local Troop 161 hundreds of carloads were unloaded, transferred to dumpsters, and stomped flat to make room for the next load.  A special thank you to Tom Sesnic (NCA Area #4 representative) for spearheading this year’s event and making it so successful.

Comments

“I cannot count the number of people that did not just dump and leave, but stayed a few extra minutes to help others, stomp limbs, or just chat and say thanks!”  D.L.

“I stopped by on my way to a class to be sure it was not cancelled, but will text my husband to start on the yard and we will bring things in a couple hours.   This is the best event in the community because it is so helpful to so many in so many ways.  Best use of membership dues ever!”  M.L.

“I was so glad I was here this year to drop items off and volunteer. I was out of town last year and I really missed the fun volunteers can have supporting others in the community.” L.C.
