New Fence Installed To Protect Natural Area In Niwot

This summer Boulder County Open Space built a protective fence along the Niwot Loop Trail that borders the Foxhill Sandstone formation in the Niwot open space area south of Somerset.  The NCA worked with the Somerset Estates HOA, and Boulder County Open Space to facilitate a more visually pleasing fence that not only protects but enhances the beauty of the natural area.  The original 5 foot tall “zig zag” fence design was replaced with a 4 foot tall Jackleg fence which provides the desired barrier to adequately protect the sandstone formation yet remain unobtrusive and aesthetically pleasing.

Everyone involved in the project is exceptionally happy with the outcome:

“To all the folks involved in the fence project planning and execution, I’d like to add my thanks on behalf of the Somerset Estates homeowner community. We appreciate and support well thought out and implemented projects such as this.

Be safe and be healthy everyone!

“I just wanted to extend our gratitude to Boulder County for working with both the Somerset Estates HOA and the Niwot Community Association to come to the decision you’ve made. I am very pleased to report that all parties are much happier with the approach the county is taking.”
